Description

• Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using standardized tools and clinical observation.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address both immediate therapeutic goals and long-range communication, cognitive, and swallowing outcomes.
• Deliver direct, one-on-one speech therapy targeting language development, fluency, voice disorders, cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, and dysphagia.
• Partner with a multidisciplinary team — including occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and physicians — to ensure cohesive, patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and their families with practical strategies that reinforce progress between clinical sessions.
• Contribute to inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, maintaining continuity of care across settings.
• Produce timely, thorough documentation that meets organizational, state, and federal standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay at the forefront of evidence-based practice.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.

Certifications

• Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Alabama.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
