Position Overview

This leadership role holds full accountability for the delivery of high-quality nursing care and the operational management of the assigned surgical unit. The Clinical Nurse Manager integrates, facilitates, and coordinates leadership, management, quality improvement, and clinical activities to ensure excellent patient care. Serving as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource, this individual supports and guides nursing staff and the broader healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment, including adherence to infection control standards.
• Lead and coordinate operational and clinical activities within the patient care department.
• Act as a mentor and clinical resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members.
• Stay informed about regional healthcare issues and community standards, participating in strategic planning and implementation.
• Conduct staff performance evaluations and manage disciplinary processes in line with organizational policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support department and organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years clinical experience in a leadership role.
• At least two years of management experience in a clinical setting.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree (MSN, MBA, MHA, or related leadership field) preferred.
• For NICU departments: Registered Nurse with a master's degree in nursing or a BSN plus a master's or certificate in nursing/healthcare administration and relevant clinical experience.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the applicable state required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required where applicable.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required for labor, delivery, NICU, and women's/newborn services.
