Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate Advanced Care Technician (ACT) to support patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. This role involves providing basic care and comfort to patients across various age groups, including infants, pediatric, and adult populations, within a dynamic healthcare environment in the Pacific Northwest region.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to unit safety and infection control protocols.
• Deliver comfort measures and assist patients with daily needs, including meal assistance.
• Record and report vital signs and observations such as temperature, pulse, weight, and fluid intake/output to supervisors.
• Clean and prepare medical equipment, reporting any issues promptly.
• Assist with patient transportation as needed.
• Prepare formula in the NICU department when applicable.

Qualifications

• ACT: Preferred 3-6 months experience in an acute care setting.
• ACT-Float: Preferred 1 year of acute care experience.
• NICU Department: Required minimum 2 years CNA experience; pediatric experience highly preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Familiarity with electronic charting is preferred.

Education

• Must hold one or more of the following upon hire:
  • Current Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
  • Military Corpsman experience.
  • Nursing student who has completed fundamentals of nursing, including initial assessments and vital signs.

Certification

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer is required for specific departments.
• Maintain at least 10 continuing education hours annually related to the role.
