Position Overview

This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic and manual door systems within a healthcare facility located in the Pacific Northwest region. The technician will ensure all door hardware and locking mechanisms operate safely and efficiently, supporting a secure and accessible environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
• Independently repair and maintain door and locking system hardware, including troubleshooting electronic and keyed locking systems.
• Use hand tools, cutting tools, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to repair door frames and units.
• Create various types of keys and perform re-keying tasks.
• Install, service, and repair automatic door mechanisms and electronic-eye operated systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and organize technical manuals.
• Manage equipment inventory and order parts following facility policies.
• Coordinate with external contractors and assist with daily shop operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and maintain clean job sites.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency with automatic doors, electronic locking systems, and related hardware.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for keyed and electronic combo locking systems.
• Competent with hand and cutting tools, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
• Familiarity with computer-based key tracking systems and diagnostic software.
• Knowledge of safety codes and standards related to door and locking systems.
• Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to cut keys manually and perform minor carpentry tasks.
• Capable of working independently and lifting up to 100 pounds.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Licenses

• Valid regional driver's license required.
• Locksmith registration preferred.
