Position Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of cardiovascular services within a healthcare setting. The Clinical Supervisor manages both human and material resources, prepares and administers budgets, and supports program development, quality improvement, and staff development initiatives. Acting as a professional role model and mentor, this individual leads the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes and collaborates with medical staff and other disciplines to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, including adherence to safety and infection control standards.
• Ensure patient care respects individual rights and preferences.
• Participate in policy formulation and decision-making at departmental and organizational levels.
• Accept accountability for services provided and evaluate healthcare quality and appropriateness.
• Coordinate nursing care with other healthcare disciplines to integrate services across the continuum of care.
• Lead recruitment, selection, and retention efforts, promoting diversity within the team.
• Assess and plan strategies addressing demographic, social, economic, and ethical issues impacting healthcare delivery.
• Manage staffing and scheduling to optimize personnel utilization based on competencies and patient needs.
• Oversee orientation, education, credentialing, and ongoing professional development for staff.
• Provide guidance, supervision, and performance evaluation for personnel.
• Develop and manage budgets for assigned areas as needed.
• Promote evidence-based practice through participation in research and staff education.
• Take timely disciplinary actions consistent with organizational policies when necessary.
• Provide direct patient care as needed and represent the department in meetings and initiatives.
• Perform data analysis and reporting to support leadership goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology.
• Proven supervisory experience involving financial management, personnel supervision, and clinical practice.
• Ability to provide clinical backup when required.
• At least two years of recent charge nurse or healthcare management experience.
• Strong knowledge of organizational operations and specialty area practices, typically gained through 3-5 years of professional experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, including word processing and database software.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited university required; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
