Position Overview

This leadership role oversees the efficient operation of cardiovascular services within a dynamic healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest region. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for managing both human and material resources, preparing budgets, and aligning with the director’s goals for program development, quality improvement, financial stewardship, and staff development. This position serves as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource, guiding the team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and collaborate effectively with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean environment adhering to safety and infection control standards.
• Ensure patient care respects individual rights and preferences.
• Participate in policy development and decision-making at departmental and organizational levels.
• Accept accountability for the quality and appropriateness of healthcare services provided.
• Coordinate nursing care with other healthcare disciplines to integrate services across the continuum.
• Lead recruitment, selection, and retention efforts, promoting diversity and inclusion.
• Assess and strategize responses to demographic, social, economic, and ethical healthcare challenges.
• Manage staffing and scheduling to optimize personnel utilization based on competencies and patient needs.
• Oversee orientation, education, credentialing, and ongoing professional development of staff.
• Supervise and evaluate personnel performance, providing guidance and timely interventions as needed.
• Develop and manage budgets for assigned areas, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Promote evidence-based practice through staff involvement in research and quality improvement activities.
• Facilitate educational opportunities for staff and students.
• Represent the department in meetings and organizational initiatives.
• Analyze data and generate reports to support leadership decisions.
• Provide direct patient care when necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology.
• Proven supervisory experience involving financial management, personnel oversight, and clinical practice.
• Ability to provide clinical backup as needed.
• At least two years recent experience as a Charge Nurse or in healthcare management.
• Strong knowledge of organizational operations and specialty area practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers, including word processing and database software.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited university required; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Master’s degree preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of California required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
