Description

• Conduct assessments on patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized tools and careful observations.
• Create tailored treatment plans focusing on immediate goals while addressing long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing requirements.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions that prioritize communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Collaborate closely with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Provide guidance and education to patients and families to assist with progress even beyond therapy sessions.
• Occasionally apply your skills in inpatient environments by evaluating and delivering speech therapy interventions, ensuring seamless care continuity throughout treatment.
• Keep thorough documentation aligned with state, federal, and organizational standards, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Engage in continuing education and collaborate with peers to stay at the forefront of your field.

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of employment.
