Description

• Assess patients ranging from children to seniors through recognized evaluation techniques and observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate objectives and long-lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions focused on elements such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing functionality.
• Work collaboratively with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and families to establish integrated care strategies.
• Educate patients and their families to bolster progress beyond clinical settings.
• Occasionally participate in inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring seamless continuity throughout the treatment experience.
• Maintain precise and timely records that comply with both state and federal regulations.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to keep abreast of new advancements in the field.

Education

• A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology accredited by a recognized institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
