Overview

As an Inpatient Registered Nurse, you'll provide comprehensive nursing care across a wide range of acute medical conditions while serving as the primary nurse within a highly respected rural Critical Access Hospital.

Working 12-hour night shifts, you'll utilize advanced assessment skills, evidence-based nursing interventions, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure exceptional patient outcomes throughout hospitalization.

This role offers broad clinical exposure, allowing you to strengthen your expertise across Medical-Surgical Nursing, Acute Care, Patient Care Unit (PCU), and rural inpatient medicine while practicing with significant clinical autonomy.

Responsibilities

As an Inpatient Registered Nurse, you will:

• Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care across diverse inpatient populations
• Perform detailed patient assessments and ongoing reassessments throughout hospitalization
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately
• Monitor changing patient conditions and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation professionals, laboratory staff, and case management
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient assessments, interventions, education, and outcomes within the electronic medical record
• Maintain infection prevention standards and patient safety protocols
• Respond confidently during emergency situations utilizing advanced nursing judgment
• Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based nursing practice
• Promote compassionate, patient-centered care throughout every stage of the patient experience

Qualifications

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred

Licensure & Certifications

Required:

• Active Colorado Registered Nurse license (or ability to obtain before employment)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition & Stabilization (PEARS) (may be obtained after hire)

Preferred:

• MEDSURG-BC
• PED-BC
• Experience using EPIC electronic medical records
• Spanish bilingual proficiency

Experience

• Minimum one year of Registered Nurse experience
• Acute Care, Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care Unit, Critical Access Hospital, or Emergency Nursing experience preferred
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
