Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough patient evaluations, recommend diagnostic tests, and develop personalized care strategies
  • Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, or episodic illness in collaboration with physicians or autonomously, based on your credentials
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding prevention, wellness, and effective disease management
  • Prescribe medications and therapies according to practice guidelines
  • Engage in ongoing patient follow-up and chronic care management activities
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote holistic and seamless patient care
  • Maintain detailed and precise documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)

 

Educational Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

 

Certifications Needed

  • Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Washington D.C.
  • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent specialty certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
