Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across multiple modalities, including abdominal, pelvic, gynecological, obstetrical, and transvaginal studies, strictly following departmental protocols and physician directives
• Conduct small-parts sonography of the thyroid, breast, and scrotum with precision and appropriate patient sensitivity
• Support and perform ultrasound-guided interventional procedures, including biopsies, aspirations, drainage, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
• Operate ultrasound equipment to consistently produce high-resolution diagnostic images suitable for Radiologist interpretation
• Prioritize patient comfort, safety, and informed consent throughout every procedure, maintaining professionalism and genuine empathy
• Accurately document patient histories, imaging results, and procedural details within the Epic electronic health record system
• Partner with Radiologists and the broader care team to review findings and contribute meaningfully to patient care plans
• Maintain and monitor ultrasound equipment functionality, reporting issues and adhering to all safety and quality standards
• Pursue continuing education and stay current with evolving ultrasound technology and sonographic best practices

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited AMA-recognized sonography or radiologic technology program

Licensure & Certifications

• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential and/or Delaware State License as a general radiographer required
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) registry required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical sonography experience required
• Demonstrated vascular ultrasound experience required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records required

Preferred Skills

• Comfort with a diverse patient population spanning inpatient and outpatient settings
• Experience with ultrasound-guided interventional procedures
