Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using a combination of standardized assessments and observational clinical methods.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that address both immediate therapeutic goals and long-term communication, language, cognitive, and swallowing outcomes.
• Deliver focused one-on-one speech therapy sessions targeting fluency, voice, articulation, receptive and expressive language, and dysphagia management.
• Partner closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, physicians, nursing staff, families, and caregivers to ensure integrated, whole-person care.
• Educate patients and their support networks on home strategies and carryover techniques to reinforce progress between clinical sessions.
• Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatment as needed, providing seamless continuity across care settings.
• Maintain thorough, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal, and facility-specific standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice to remain at the forefront of the field.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited program.
• Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not yet been obtained.

Certifications

• Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Florida.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) through ASHA strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
