ASCP- Histology Technician

MLR is collaborating with a respected health system to find a skilled and meticulous Histology Technician. This vital role is essential for delivering accurate and timely histological services that support patient diagnosis and care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Slide Preparation: Prepare high-quality histologic slides through processes such as tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and compliance with safety standards.
• Specialized Staining: Assist with specialized staining techniques, including immunohistochemistry, for comprehensive tissue analysis.
• Specimen Documentation: Accurately label, document, and track specimens to maintain the integrity of patient information and results.
• Collaboration: Work alongside pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure prompt and precise reporting of findings.
• Quality Control: Engage in quality control and assurance initiatives to foster continuous improvement within the laboratory.
• Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest histology techniques, safety regulations, and ASCP certification standards.

Histology Technician Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
• Certification: ASCP certification as a Histology Technician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
• Experience: Preferred: Over 1 year of experience in a histology lab.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
