We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join a birthing center team in the Midwest region. This role involves providing comprehensive care throughout prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, ensuring a safe and positive experience for mothers and newborns. The nurse will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to expectant mothers during all stages of childbirth.
• Monitor vital signs and fetal heart tones to assess maternal and newborn well-being.
• Create and implement individualized care plans in partnership with healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum processes to support informed choices.
• Provide emotional and physical support during labor and assist with deliveries.
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and outcomes in compliance with regulations.
• Recognize abnormal labor conditions and respond appropriately following departmental guidelines.
• Perform vaginal exams, notify physicians at delivery time, and interpret fetal monitor tracings accurately.

Education and Certification

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Registered Nurse licensure valid in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association standards.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within one year of hire.

Experience and Training

• Completion of birthing center orientation under supervision, including vaginal labor/delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Mandatory Reporter training completed at hire or within six months.
• Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.
• Compliance with organizational policies, including Code of Conduct and compliance programs.
