Laboratory Assistant - Full Time

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Formal phlebotomy training from an accredited program – preferred
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification required, or must be obtained within 3 months of hire
• Basic computer and clerical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Prior phlebotomy or healthcare experience preferred but not required

What You’ll Do:

• Perform venipuncture and collect biological specimens
• Process and label samples for laboratory testing
• Perform routine testing under the supervision of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
• Accurately enter test data and patient information into the lab information system
• Follow established procedures and safety protocols
• Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
