We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join a birthing center team in the Midwest region. This role involves providing comprehensive care throughout prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, ensuring a safe and positive experience for mothers and their newborns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver holistic nursing care to expectant mothers during all stages of childbirth.
• Monitor vital signs and fetal heart tones to maintain maternal and newborn well-being.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum processes to support informed choices.
• Assist during labor and delivery, offering both emotional and physical support.
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and outcomes in compliance with regulations.
• Recognize abnormal labor conditions promptly and act according to departmental guidelines.
• Perform vaginal exams, notify physicians at appropriate times, and interpret fetal monitor tracings effectively.

Education and Certification:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Registered Nurse licensure valid in the state of Iowa or eligible to work there.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association standards.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within one year of hire.

Experience and Training:

• Completion of birthing center orientation under supervision, including vaginal labor/delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Mandatory Reporter course completion at or within six months of hire.
• Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.

Compliance and Professionalism:

• Commitment to compliance with organizational policies, including Code of Conduct and compliance programs.
• Participation in ongoing education and training related to compliance and professional standards.
