We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join a birthing center team in the Midwest region. This role involves providing comprehensive care throughout prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, ensuring a safe and positive experience for mothers and their newborns. The nurse will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and implement appropriate interventions to support healthy labor and delivery.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver holistic nursing care to expectant mothers during all stages of childbirth.
• Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart tones to ensure well-being.
• Create and execute individualized care plans in partnership with healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum processes to empower informed decisions.
• Provide emotional and physical support during labor and assist with deliveries.
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Recognize abnormal labor situations promptly and take appropriate action per protocol.
• Perform vaginal exams accurately, notify physicians at the appropriate time, and interpret fetal monitor tracings.

Education and Certification

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Registered Nurse licensure valid in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per American Heart Association standards.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within one year of hire.

Experience and Training

• Completion of birthing center orientation under supervision, including vaginal labor/delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Proof of completion or commitment to complete Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.
• Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.
• Compliance with organizational policies including Code of Conduct and compliance programs.
