We are seeking a dedicated Appointment Scheduling Specialist to join a healthcare team serving the Midwest region. This full-time role involves managing patient appointment scheduling to ensure smooth operations and high satisfaction for both patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily patient scheduling through telephone, electronic, and face-to-face interactions with professionalism and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the registration team to streamline check-in and check-out processes, enhancing patient experience and accuracy.
- Maintain clear and proactive communication with medical staff and supporting departments, promptly addressing any scheduling concerns.
- Handle requests, complaints, and communications with discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives to support organizational goals.
- Manage automated appointment reminder systems to reduce no-shows.
- Perform physical tasks associated with the role and maintain consistent attendance.
Education
High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in business or healthcare-related field is preferred.
Experience and Skills
- Proven problem-solving and planning abilities.
- Capability to instruct both professional and non-professional personnel.
- Strong collaboration and management skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
