We are seeking a dedicated ASCP Certified Laboratory Assistant to join a dynamic clinical team in the Midwest region. This role involves supporting laboratory operations by collecting and processing specimens, performing waived and moderate complexity testing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood, urine, and other specimens accurately and timely.
• Perform and report waived and moderate complexity tests under supervision.
• Maintain quality control by analyzing and recording test results and addressing deviations.
• Adhere to safety protocols including handling infectious materials and using personal protective equipment.
• Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Follow documentation policies for test results, orders, and performance improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Education

High school diploma or GED required. Graduation from a Clinical Laboratory Assistant program is essential.

Experience

At least one year of experience in blood specimen collection or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months of medical or clinical laboratory experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.
• Ability to perform physical demands of the job with or without accommodations.
