We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in hospice care to join a supportive healthcare team focused on delivering exceptional end-of-life services. This role involves providing patient-centered care either in home settings or hospice facilities, ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of life for patients and their families throughout the hospice journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.
• Conduct initial physical evaluations and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Administer medications and manage symptoms following established protocols.
• Educate and support patients and families about end-of-life care options and resources.
• Coordinate services to facilitate smooth hospice care delivery.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and communicate changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary group.
• Perform venipuncture or collect lab specimens as ordered by physicians.
• Ensure communication with primary and consulting providers regarding patient status.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Registered Nurse licensure valid for practice in the region.
• Previous experience in hospice, palliative, or critical care settings is preferred.
• Completion of hospice philosophy and care training is required.

Requirements

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification according to American Heart Association standards.
• Completion or commitment to complete Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.
• Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.

This position offers part-time hours during evenings and nights, including PRN shifts, within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest.
