We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Resource Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care across multiple departments including Inpatient Services, Critical Care, Birthing Center, and Emergency Services within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest. This role involves delivering nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation while coordinating patient education and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to assigned patients, adapting to various departments as needed.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments covering physical, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects upon patient admission.
• Develop and modify individualized interdisciplinary care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely, documenting all interventions and patient responses accurately.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes and treatment plans at an understandable level.
• Assist with discharge planning from admission through hospitalization, ensuring smooth transitions with input from the care team and family.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for new staff, promoting a supportive and knowledgeable work environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all compliance and regulatory standards, including HIPAA.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certifications and stay current with best practices.

Birthing Center Specific Duties

• Recognize abnormal labor situations and take appropriate action following departmental protocols.
• Perform accurate vaginal exams, notify physicians timely, and interpret fetal monitor tracings effectively.

Education and Certifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold a current Registered Nurse license valid in the regional state.
• Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within one year of hire.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification by the American Heart Association standards.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.

Experience and Requirements

• Fully trained and competent in Inpatient Services, Critical Care, Birthing Center, and Emergency Services.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills to manage workload efficiently and meet patient care timelines.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to participate in meetings and ongoing training.
