We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Resource Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care across multiple departments including Inpatient Services, Critical Care, Birthing Center, and Emergency Services within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest. This role involves coordinating patient education and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of professional nursing are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled nursing care to assigned patients, adapting to various units as needed.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments covering physical, psychological, spiritual, and social aspects upon patient admission.
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized interdisciplinary care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide ongoing reassessment and documentation of patient status, recognizing complications and initiating appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes and treatment plans at an understandable level.
• Assist with discharge planning from admission through hospitalization, involving the patient, family, and care team.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for new staff members.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA.

Birthing Center Specific Duties

• Recognize abnormal labor situations and respond according to protocol.
• Perform accurate vaginal exams and interpret fetal monitor tracings, coordinating with physicians for delivery timing.

Education and Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Registered Nurse licensure valid in the regional state.
• Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within one year of hire.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification by the American Heart Association standards.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.

Experience and Requirements

• Fully trained in Inpatient Services, Critical Care, Birthing Center, and Emergency Services departments.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Physical capability to meet job demands and maintain reliable attendance.
• Commitment to ongoing education and compliance with federal, state, and professional standards.
