Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Laboratory Courier, responsible for the timely and safe transport of specimens, reports, and supplies across multiple regional healthcare locations in the Midwest. This role is vital in supporting patient care by ensuring prompt delivery and maintaining specimen integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver blood, body fluid, and pathology specimens from various clinics and laboratory clients following a prescribed schedule and route.
• Transport patient reports, laboratory supplies, interoffice mail, office materials, and other essential items securely and efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to universal precautions, bloodborne pathogen guidelines, and Department of Transportation regulations for biological specimen transport.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks, reporting any issues promptly.
• Operate computer systems for order entry and specimen receipt using electronic medical records (EMR) and laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Fax reports and ensure accurate documentation and communication with healthcare providers.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and proof of limited liability insurance meeting specified coverage limits.
• Ability to drive safely up to 100-300 miles daily, including in adverse weather conditions.

• Physical ability to frequently enter and exit the vehicle throughout the day.
• Customer-friendly demeanor with strong communication skills.
• Capability to manage multiple scheduling demands and work daily, including weekends.
• Awareness and caution when handling potentially hazardous materials such as dry ice and medications.
