Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Laboratory Courier, responsible for the timely pickup and delivery of specimens, reports, and supplies across multiple regional healthcare locations in the Midwest. This role is vital in supporting patient care by ensuring specimens and materials reach their destinations promptly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood, body fluid, and pathology specimens from various clinics and laboratory clients following a prescribed schedule and route.
• Deliver specimens to the laboratory while maintaining specimen integrity through proper storage and temperature control.
• Transport patient reports, laboratory supplies, interoffice mail, office materials, and other essential items between healthcare sites.
• Operate vehicles safely, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols, including during adverse weather conditions.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks, reporting any issues promptly.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and laboratory information systems (LIS) for order entry, specimen receipt, and report faxing with accuracy.
• Exhibit a professional and customer-friendly demeanor as a key representative of the healthcare organization.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience driving long distances daily (100-300 miles) and comfort with frequent vehicle entry and exit.

Requirements

• Proof of limited liability insurance with coverage limits meeting or exceeding $100,000 Each/$300,000 Aggregate or $300,000 Combined Single Limit.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, with deliveries and pickups occurring daily.
• Willingness to handle potentially hazardous materials such as dry ice and medications safely.
