Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Patient Care Technician (CNA) supporting the delivery of compassionate, hands-on patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. This role is essential in assisting with obstetric procedures, maintaining patient charts, and ensuring smooth unit operations through supply management and clerical support.

Essential Functions

• Assist with stocking and maintaining supplies, ensuring cost-effective patient care within budget guidelines.
• Manage surgical instruments and supplies inventory during assigned shifts, particularly in labor and delivery areas.
• Incorporate Family-Centered care principles to support positive birthing experiences and newborn care.
• Provide clerical assistance including assembling patient charts and answering phones courteously.
• Maintain infant security protocols and enter vital newborn data into state databases.
• Support nurses in patient care activities such as bathing, vital signs monitoring, blood glucose checks, and newborn care.
• Safely transport patients and assist with positioning and lifting as needed.
• Participate in patient rounding, new staff orientation, and safety drills.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and departmental emergency procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Foster cooperative relationships with patients, visitors, and staff, respecting age-specific needs.

Education and Certification

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a CNA course and listing on the Nurse Aide Registry required.
• Verification of Nurse Aide I course completion or equivalent competency required; Nurse Aide II-Advanced course preferred and may be provided post-hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association required.
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.
