Job Description

• Perform thorough patient evaluations, including in-depth physical assessments and comprehensive medical history reviews
• Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through careful interpretation of laboratory data and diagnostic imaging
• Work hand-in-hand with attending surgeons to develop and carry out individualized treatment and surgical care plans
• Provide active intraoperative assistance, including patient positioning, OR preparation, and skilled instrument handling throughout procedures
• Deliver thoughtful pre- and post-operative patient care, encompassing wound management, medication oversight, discharge coordination, and patient and family education

Education

• Master's degree from a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program
• Clinical rotations with a meaningful surgical component are strongly preferred

Certifications

• Active and unrestricted PA-C certification through NCCPA
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Illinois state licensure as a Physician Assistant, or demonstrated eligibility to obtain licensure

Skills

• Solid command of surgical principles, aseptic protocols, and sterile field technique
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex diagnostic findings and contribute meaningfully to clinical decision-making
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across care teams and patient populations
