Job Details

Take charge of systemic strategies that enhance the capture, management, and collection of patient service revenue within a dynamic healthcare environment in the Central Plains region of the United States. This leadership role involves overseeing a cross-departmental revenue cycle process, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct teams, including hiring, performance management, and termination decisions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize revenue, reduce claim denials, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze data from diverse sources to identify trends and recommend best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy and security regulations related to Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Maintain professional communication with patients, team members, physicians, contractors, and external agencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational success.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree and industry-recognized professional certifications are preferred.

Experience

At least 10 years of progressive experience in the healthcare industry, with a strong background in patient financial services and revenue cycle management. Familiarity with regional healthcare regulations is highly desirable.

Requirements and Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations and accrediting agency regulations.
  • Proficiency in health information management, DNFB management, and change management principles.
  • Experience administering programs addressing HIPAA, ARRA HITECH, and data retention laws.
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, project management, and analytical abilities.
  • Effective leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Ability to drive change and foster innovation within the revenue cycle function.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate office equipment and review data.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for vendor meetings or conferences.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.

Physical Requirements

Light work involving occasional exertion up to 25 lbs and frequent exertion up to 10 lbs. Standing or walking may be required 11-25% of the workday.
