Join a dynamic radiology team as a Radiologic Tech Trainee, working under the indirect supervision of a registered technologist. This part-time position offers hands-on experience operating radiology equipment while supporting patient care in a collaborative environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity using two forms of identification and confirm physician orders to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Participate in all mandatory meetings, in-services, and assigned continuing education to maintain and enhance skills.
• Complete and maintain departmental competency checklists to demonstrate proficiency.
• Utilize resources and time efficiently while identifying and reporting issues to contribute to problem-solving efforts.
• Engage actively in process improvement projects at both departmental and organizational levels.
• Collaborate effectively within a team, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
• Communicate exam requirements, risks, and benefits clearly to patients to ease anxiety and obtain informed consent.
• Apply radiation protection techniques following the ALARA principle to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
• Adhere to privacy and security regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Maintain professional relationships with patients, team members, physicians, and external agencies.

Education and Experience

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s degree program or equivalent at a two-year college or technical school in Radiologic Technology.
• Completion of the first semester of clinical rotation is required.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of a current Basic Life Support (BLS) card within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to verify physician orders and perform procedures accordingly.
• Familiarity with imaging functions and effective communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Medium work involving occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs and frequent exertion of up to 10 lbs.
• Standing or walking 26-50% of the workday.
