This full-time day position involves planning and providing patient-centered care under physician guidance. You will mentor and support new staff and students, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and policies.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice and unit competencies.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans tailored to patient needs.
• Encourage patient independence by setting care goals and involving patients and families in discussions about medical issues, testing, medications, and self-care.
• Administer and evaluate medications accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of care, including disease processes and symptom management.
• Document care activities promptly and accurately following organizational policies.
• Observe and report changes in patients’ physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding protected health information.
• Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar healthcare environment is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state.
• Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policy.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong nursing principles application.

• Basic computer and keyboarding proficiency.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

Physical Requirements

This role may require occasional heavy lifting up to 100 lbs and frequent standing or walking for 51-75% of the workday, with or without accommodation.
