This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the chargemaster and ensuring billing practices comply with regulations. Key duties include updating and managing CPT, HCPCS, revenue codes, charge descriptions, and pricing information. The analyst audits billing and coding to maximize revenue collection and ensure compliance with applicable guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Create and analyze reports to monitor productivity, accuracy, and data integrity.
• Design and implement corrective action reports to address missing or invalid data.
• Adhere to privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Maintain professional communication with patients, team members, physicians, contractors, and external agencies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of 4 years experience in billing, coding, revenue integrity, or chargemaster management.
• Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with Cerner Millennium or Athena systems is a plus.

Licenses and Certifications:

• No mandatory certifications required.
• Industry-recognized certification in coding, billing, medical auditing, or related fields preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Intermediate computer proficiency.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization capabilities.
• Detail-oriented with extensive knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, UB04 revenue codes, modifiers, billing regulations, and APC.
• Understanding of the chargemaster’s relationship to general ledger cost accounting, productivity, cost reporting, and budgeting.

Physical Requirements: Primarily sedentary work with occasional exertion of up to 10 lbs and minimal standing or walking.
