This part-time role involves direct patient care and supportive tasks under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, emphasizing safety and effective communication. The position requires collaboration with healthcare team members and a commitment to exceptional customer service, fostering respectful relationships with patients and colleagues.

Essential Functions by Department/Specialty:

• Medical: Provide individualized patient care and technical support under nurse delegation, including vital signs monitoring, assisting with daily living activities, specimen collection, and maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols. Serve patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics.
• Emergency Department: Perform nurse assistant and phlebotomy duties, including EKG testing and specimen collection, following proper identification and laboratory procedures. Maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment cleanliness.
• ICU: Assist as nurse aide, unit clerk, and monitor technician, recognizing and reporting cardiac rhythm changes after completing arrhythmia training. Perform clerical tasks as needed.
• Imaging: Support imaging technologists by preparing patients and rooms, transporting patients, managing supplies, and observing patient conditions while adhering to safety and privacy standards.
• Obstetrics: Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, sterile technique, circumcision procedures, and newborn screenings. Prepare and maintain delivery suites and supplies.
• Telesitter: Provide continuous video observation, verbal redirection, and timely notification to nursing staff regarding patient needs.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

• Effective communication and multitasking abilities.

• Previous medical environment exposure.

Education and Experience:

• Completion of one of the following: nurse assistant training program, six months nurse assistant experience, EMT or Advanced EMT experience, or successful completion of first semester nursing clinical skills.
• Preferred: One year acute care nurse assistant experience, CNA certification, and Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Healthcare Provider BLS certification through AHA or ARC required before start date.
