Join a dedicated team providing crisis stabilization services 24/7 to adults and youth experiencing mental health emergencies in the Midwest region. This role focuses on delivering intensive, goal-oriented support to individuals requiring immediate crisis intervention, aiming to reduce hospital admissions and law enforcement involvement while promoting engagement with outpatient treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centered case management using proven methods to alleviate mental illness symptoms and enhance emotional and functional well-being.
- Provide crisis stabilization at a residential facility designed for short-term mental health support.
- Conduct trauma-informed risk assessments under the guidance of a Qualified Mental Health Professional to ensure safety.
- Collaborate regularly with caregivers, family members, physicians, and other providers throughout the crisis episode.
- Assist clinicians in coordinating appropriate levels of care post-assessment.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques in high-intensity situations.
- Support clients in meeting treatment goals, medication adherence, crisis management, and daily living activities.
- Monitor clients closely for safety as needed.
- Develop and implement plans to help clients schedule follow-up mental health appointments.
- Work towards successful reintegration of clients into their homes, communities, schools, and outpatient services.
- May require some night and weekend shifts based on community crisis demands.
- Complete all required documentation, training, and competency reviews promptly and accurately.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required.
- Preferred degrees include Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Special Education with specialized training in human development and family dynamics.
- Three to five years of professional experience in mental health services, crisis response, or related areas is preferred.
- Experience educating clients on self-care and improving daily living activities for two or more years is advantageous.
Licensure and Training
- Completion of CPST Case Management online training, KHS online training, and passing background checks including KBI, child abuse, and adult abuse registries is required.
- Within 60 days of employment, completion of Adult Case Management training, CPR, and First Aid training is mandatory.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable vehicle are necessary.
