The Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate care under the guidance of physicians and nursing staff. This position requires timely and accurate documentation in line with healthcare policies and the ability to provide care across all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform patient care duties as outlined by unit competencies, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Maintain professional communication and relationships with patients, families, healthcare teams, and external agencies.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and reliably.

Education and Experience:

• Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Home Health Aide (HHA), or equivalent experience such as early nursing school coursework.
• Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by orientation completion.
• Successful completion of on-the-job training in sterile technique, instrument care, EKG, and phlebotomy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a medical environment.
• Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification (ASCP) is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

• Basic to moderate computer proficiency, including telesitter technology.
• Effective communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform very heavy work occasionally, including lifting over 100 lbs and frequently lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Standing or walking for 75-100% of the workday.
