As a Telemetry Charge Nurse working night shifts, you will be entrusted with supervisory responsibilities assigned by the Unit Director, ensuring smooth operations and prioritizing tasks to meet the dynamic needs of the unit. You will play a vital role in fostering exceptional customer service and maintaining respectful relationships with patients, families, and staff.

Essential Functions

• Perform all duties expected of a Registered Nurse staff member with expertise in clinical judgment and decision-making.
• Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge aligned with current standards of practice within your area of responsibility.
• Encourage a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care planning.
• Evaluate nurse-to-patient ratios and staff skill levels to ensure appropriate assignments.
• Develop delegation skills among staff and lead or contribute to department meetings and committees.
• Communicate and enforce compliance with departmental and organizational policies.
• Coach and mentor staff to enhance professional performance and accountability.
• Address patient and family concerns, legal and ethical issues through regular rounding.
• Manage resources flexibly to promote cost-effective and safe patient care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to support progressive patient care and discharge planning.
• Promote team-building activities and intervene in unacceptable staff behaviors within scope of responsibility.
• Participate in policy development and monitor unit risk events.
• Encourage staff involvement in shared governance and support new staff and student training.
• Adhere to privacy and security regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Serve a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to geriatric individuals.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Experience as a practicing Registered Nurse is required.
• BSN degree is strongly preferred.

Licensure and Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state applicable to the regional area.
• Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC required within 30 days of hire.
