Job Summary: Provide neurological, musculoskeletal, and pain-relief rehabilitation treatments as prescribed by physicians. Conduct standardized and non-standardized assessments, interpret data for treatment planning, and implement and evaluate patient care plans. Deliver compassionate, respectful service while maintaining strong professional relationships.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments including diagnosis and measurable goals.
• Enhance patient abilities safely and effectively, prioritizing needs and utilizing available resources.
• Collaborate with and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants during treatment delivery.
• Perform timely therapy assessments and reassessments to evaluate progress and treatment effectiveness.
• Participate in discharge planning with interdisciplinary teams.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation to support skilled care and medical necessity.
• Provide occupational therapy services within the scope of practice for the state of Kansas.
• Serve patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Adhere to agency and departmental policies.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

• Competency in test administration and use of therapy materials and equipment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and basic computer skills.
• Effective communication abilities.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• At least one year of experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist working with geriatric patients.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Preferred: Minimum one year experience as a certified Occupational Therapist with geriatric patients.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Current Occupational Therapy licensure through the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
• BLS certification required within three months of hire.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license and auto insurance meeting state requirements.
