Overview

This is a full-time, ARDMS-certified Ultrasound Technologist role embedded within a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment serving a diverse patient population in central Massachusetts. You will independently perform a broad range of ultrasound examinations, generate high-quality diagnostic images, and collaborate closely with radiologists and referring clinicians to support timely, accurate patient care decisions.

OB ultrasound experience is particularly valued here, though the caseload spans general abdominal, vascular, small parts, and additional modalities, keeping daily work varied and professionally engaging.

Responsibilities

• Perform a comprehensive range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations with precision and efficiency, maintaining image quality standards appropriate for radiologist interpretation
• Operate and optimize ultrasound equipment across exam types, adapting technique to patient presentation and clinical indication
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging processes clearly, and ensure comfort and safety throughout each encounter
• Capture, document, and archive diagnostic images in accordance with departmental protocols and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with radiologists, ordering physicians, and care teams to communicate findings and support coordinated patient care
• Maintain accurate procedural records, QA logs, and compliance documentation
• Contribute to a professional, patient-centered imaging environment that prioritizes both clinical accuracy and compassionate interaction

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical training pathway

Licensure & Certifications

• ARDMS certification required (or equivalent recognized credentialing body)
• Active registry in at least one relevant ARDMS specialty (e.g., Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular Technology)

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience as an ultrasound technologist required
• New graduates are not eligible for this position

Preferred Skills

• Experience in obstetric (OB) ultrasound is strongly preferred
• Proficiency across multiple ultrasound modalities and exam types
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and digital imaging documentation workflows
• Strong patient communication skills and the ability to manage workflow independently in a high-volume environment
