Job Summary: Explore healthcare careers through a unique job shadowing experience designed for individuals interested in observing a specific department or role. This opportunity is unpaid and intended for observation only, providing a firsthand look at various healthcare professions.

Program Details

Participants will shadow healthcare providers or teams to gain insight into the day-to-day responsibilities and determine if the role aligns with their career goals. Scheduling is coordinated by a dedicated Volunteer Services team, who strive to match applicants with meaningful and relevant experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 for standard shadowing; some roles require participants to be 18 or older.
• Observation-only participation; no hands-on involvement.
• Shadowing duration does not exceed 7 days.
• Submission of vaccine documentation and any additional paperwork as requested by the Volunteer Services coordinator.
• Applications must specify areas of interest and availability dates at least 3 weeks to a month in advance; earlier dates will not be considered.

For those interested in the Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) pathway, direct contact with the relevant medical school is recommended for shadowing opportunities.
