Job Summary: The Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides visionary leadership and operational oversight for nursing and related clinical services within a regional healthcare system in the Midwest. This role is responsible for setting strategic goals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of quality, safety, and patient-centered care. The CNO leads clinical operations, budget management, and performance improvement initiatives while promoting associate engagement and strong physician partnerships.

Essential Functions: Lead and manage nursing and clinical operations, ensuring quality assurance and continuous improvement. Maintain regulatory compliance with nursing practice acts and healthcare licensure rules. Support nursing education programs and staff competency through ongoing training and development. Develop and implement evidence-based nursing policies and delivery models. Collaborate with physicians and leadership teams to execute strategic plans and improve patient access, satisfaction, and outcomes. Oversee budget adherence, cost containment, and resource allocation. Drive recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing leaders and staff. Foster strong relationships with associates, physicians, and community stakeholders. Participate in committees and contribute to organizational initiatives focused on quality, safety, and service excellence.

Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. A Master's degree is mandatory.

Experience: Minimum of seven years of progressive healthcare management experience, preferably including leadership of inpatient units. Proven ability to represent an organization professionally and externally.

Requirements: Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Indiana. Excellent communication skills and ability to travel between facilities as needed. Strong relationship-building skills and strategic leadership capabilities are essential.
