Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant nursing practice acts, and regulatory agency standards. Acute care settings include medical units, surgery, emergency departments, intensive care, childbirth, pediatrics, operating room, perianesthesia, endoscopy, and cardiac cath lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate proactively with patients and healthcare teams to manage expectations and ensure a positive experience.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained as required.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

This position offers a first shift schedule with 36 hours per week in a regional healthcare setting located in the Midwest United States.
