Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic imaging for licensed practitioners. This role involves operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images essential for patient diagnosis and care.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring patient history aligns with the procedure and documentation is accurate for practitioner use.
• Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety and ensuring comfort.
• Operate radiography equipment and accessories effectively to perform required procedures.
• Position patients appropriately to highlight anatomical areas of interest, respecting their comfort and abilities.
• Immobilize patients when necessary to ensure examination accuracy.
• Determine and apply correct radiographic exposure techniques.
• Implement radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others from unnecessary exposure.
• Evaluate image quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
• Attend to patients' physical and psychological needs during procedures.
• Practice aseptic techniques as required.
• Perform venipunctures and administer contrast media as prescribed.
• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures.
• May perform non-interpretive fluoroscopic tasks and assist with urinary catheter anchoring if instructed.
• Initiate basic life support when necessary.
• Provide patient education regarding tests and procedures.
• Maintain assigned areas, report equipment issues, and manage supply restocking.
• Offer practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to all applicable standards and policies.
• May participate in on-call duties to provide technical assistance or shift coverage as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Computer proficiency is necessary.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Must hold state certification for radiography.
• Active student license at start date from an accredited radiography program.
• Registry eligible and must obtain R.T.(R) ARRT certification within six months of hire.

Work Shift: First shift, part-time (32 hours weekly).

This position is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
