Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory agency requirements. The position supports acute care departments including Medical, Surgery, Emergency, Intensive Care, Childbirth, Pediatric, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab units.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs, ensuring a positive experience.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, associates, and self by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
• Engage in professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications must be obtained and maintained.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Current active Registered Nurse licensure as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift: Day shift, 6:00am – 6:00pm, 36 hours per week.

This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
