Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and related procedures to produce detailed sectional anatomic images.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct MRI procedures, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the imaging protocol and is properly documented for licensed practitioners.
• Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal results, encourage cooperation, and reduce anxiety.
• Operate MRI equipment and accessories, selecting appropriate scanning parameters and protocols as directed by radiologists.
• Position and immobilize patients comfortably to best capture the area of interest while applying magnet safety principles to protect patients and staff.
• Assist licensed physicians during procedures and attend to patients’ physical and psychological needs throughout imaging.
• Perform venipunctures and administer contrast media safely as prescribed, while maintaining and caring for all technical equipment.
• Evaluate image quality, adjust display parameters, and ensure accurate documentation and record keeping.
• Initiate basic life support when necessary and perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as needed.
• Educate patients and their families about tests and procedures in a compassionate manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the imaging area, report equipment issues, and contribute to supply management.
• Provide training and guidance to students and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including quality control duties specific to MRI.
• Stay current with sterile techniques, anatomical knowledge, and imaging technology.
• Record patient histories and relevant information accurately in electronic systems.
• Manage imaging media release requests in compliance with authorization protocols.
• May participate in on-call duties to provide technical support outside regular hours, adhering to organizational policies.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Computer proficiency.
• Experienced radiographer with knowledge of MRI procedures and cross-sectional anatomy.

Licensure and Certifications:

• State certification as required.
• Registered Technologist (R.T. (R)) with ARRT or equivalent.
• ARRT MRI certification (R.T. (MR)) at hire or obtained within two years.

Work Schedule: Weekend shifts, Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 7 PM, approximately 24 hours weekly.

This role is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
