Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Patient Access Advocate, where you will play a vital role in supporting patients, staff, and third-party payers by efficiently managing patient access and revenue cycle responsibilities. This full-time position involves various roles such as operator, emergency department registration, and patient greeting, working flexible shifts including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct pre-registration for all patient types, ensuring no duplicate medical record or account numbers are created. This includes collecting demographic and insurance information via phone or during pre-procedure encounters, entering data accurately, and preparing patient packets.
2. Manage patient registrations by scanning insurance cards, verifying and entering demographic and insurance data, assembling necessary documentation, coordinating room assignments with nursing units or bed control, obtaining required signatures, and guiding patients to appropriate departments.
3. Follow up on special cases such as infectious patients and provide all patients with informational brochures about their rights and responsibilities.
4. Complete Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaires and ensure accurate registration edits before forwarding to billing.
5. Handle patient transfers and discharges, and perform follow-up on signatures and Medicaid eligibility.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required or in progress, with a focus on office skills.
- Vocational training or on-the-job experience in computer operations and switchboard use is essential.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare business office experience is advantageous.
