Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing radionuclides for diagnostic imaging, aiding licensed practitioners in patient diagnosis. This role involves performing nuclear medicine procedures with precision and professionalism.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct nuclear medicine diagnostic tests for both inpatients and outpatients.
• Schedule all nuclear medicine procedures efficiently.
• Verify physician orders and prepare individualized doses for patients, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Operate specialized nuclear medicine equipment, such as scintillation scanners, to detect and measure radioactive isotopes in targeted body areas.
• Prepare and administer radioactive tracers, adhering strictly to radiation safety protocols to prevent overexposure.
• Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, alleviate concerns, and assist with positioning.
• Maintain confidentiality and detailed records of tests, isotope usage, and staff dosimetry.
• Ensure cleanliness and contamination-free environments for rooms, equipment, and personnel.
• Participate actively in radiation safety committees and quality assurance programs.
• Coordinate maintenance and upkeep of nuclear medicine equipment, documenting all activities.
• Provide basic life support when necessary and engage in ongoing professional education.
• Participate in on-call duties to support technical needs outside regular shifts.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of at least a one-year American Medical Association-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Proficiency with computer systems.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) credential from the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
• State health board certification as required.
