Job Summary: Support nursing practice and care delivery through a blend of direct patient care, communication, client support, and clerical duties in a patient- and family-centered environment that promotes best practices and relationship-based care.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Fiscal Responsibility: Complete assignments within delegated timeframes; assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and transport; collect and transport specimens hourly; maintain transportation area cleanliness and equipment; manage supplies efficiently; respond promptly to pages and calls; support scheduling and supply management; adhere to attendance and scheduling policies.
• Quality: Collaborate as a team member in continuous quality improvement efforts; provide age- and diagnosis-appropriate care; suggest improvements to patient experience; document care per unit standards and stay current with policies.
• Patient Satisfaction: Advocate for patient rights; enhance patient comfort and cooperation; tailor routines to individual needs; assist nursing staff in improving patient satisfaction; communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Patient Safety: Safely transport patients using proper identification and fall prevention techniques; prepare patients for transport considering special needs; practice aseptic techniques and basic life support when necessary; ensure proper handoff to receiving departments.
• Professional Growth: Recognize personal limitations and seek assistance; engage in self-directed learning; share knowledge with colleagues; demonstrate leadership as a role model and resource; participate in goal setting and in-service training.
• Customer Service: Uphold high customer service standards; address ethical concerns; foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, and coworkers; practice AIDET communication; maintain professional appearance and conduct; adapt to staffing and assignment needs.
