Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required. Candidates from non-accredited programs must have at least five years of acute care nursing experience or hold an advanced degree from an accredited institution. Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty credentials are expected to be obtained and maintained.
