Job Summary: Provide essential support in healthcare delivery and patient care management within a clinical setting. Responsibilities vary based on the practice's needs at any given time.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Deliver direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal indicators to identify at-risk clients. Follow established standards and guidelines to ensure quality care. Manage telephone triage with professionalism, offering reassurance, accurate education, and clear directions.
2. Facilitate smooth healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits. Ensure medical records are accurate, complete, and up to date. Initiate patient contact, prepare patients for examinations, and collect vital signs including weight, age, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, history, and chief complaints. Monitor patients for abnormal signs, communicate findings to physicians, and document accordingly. Confirm patient understanding of physician instructions upon discharge. Accurately document medical records and billing information in electronic systems.
3. Support testing and treatment procedures under physician supervision. Assist with splint and dressing applications, follow physician orders, manage sample medications and logs, coordinate patient testing and admissions, and obtain necessary referrals. Retrieve test results and communicate with patients. Aid physicians in minor surgeries and physical exams, ensuring proper consents are obtained before invasive procedures or immunizations. Distribute educational materials and assist patients in understanding treatments and medication usage. Perform prescribed laboratory tests and maintain lab logs.
4. Maintain clinical areas by ensuring all patient care spaces, equipment, and materials are well-stocked and organized. Order and manage supplies, keep exam rooms clean and orderly following protocols, and ensure instruments are sterile and equipment functions properly.
5. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program is required.

This position operates on the first shift within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest United States, offering approximately 24 hours per week on a part-time basis.
