Job Summary: Provide essential support to nursing practices and patient care delivery through a blend of direct patient assistance, effective communication, client care support, and clerical duties. This role emphasizes patient- and family-centered care within an environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service, fostering relationship-based care.
Essential Responsibilities:
Fiscal Responsibility
- Complete assignments within delegated timeframes.
- Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and transportation.
- Conduct hourly rounds to collect and transport specimens across units.
- Manage transportation area upkeep, report equipment issues, restock supplies, and complete work orders.
- Use time and supplies efficiently, respond promptly to communications, and support scheduling and supply management.
- Adhere to staffing and scheduling policies, including timely communication of availability and shift adherence.
Quality
- Collaborate as a team member in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide care tailored to patient age and diagnosis with common sense and skill.
- Suggest improvements to enhance patient experience.
- Maintain accurate documentation and stay current with unit policies.
Patient Satisfaction
- Advocate for patient rights and promote a positive care model.
- Enhance patient comfort and cooperation by providing necessary items and clear instructions.
- Adapt routines to individual patient needs and assist nursing staff in improving satisfaction.
- Support organizational goals through professional communication and teamwork.
Patient Safety
- Safely transport patients within the facility using proper identification and fall prevention techniques.
- Confirm patient identity and prepare patients for transport.
- Address physical and psychological needs during transport, apply aseptic techniques, and initiate basic life support if needed.
- Ensure proper handoff to receiving departments and assist discharged patients.
