Job Summary: Provide essential clinical support in the operating room by assisting anesthesia providers, surgeons, and team members with procedural tasks. Ensure adherence to established standards for instrument processing, including cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization, following manufacturer and professional guidelines.

• Assist with procedural tasks and prioritize duties as directed by leadership.
• Monitor and maintain surgical instruments and equipment according to industry standards.
• Adjust work schedule to meet fluctuating department activity levels.
• Use supplies judiciously to support quality patient care.

Quality and Patient Care

• Support nursing staff by obtaining specialized supplies promptly without compromising care.
• Respond effectively to changes in patient care needs during procedures.
• Collaborate to update preference cards, instrument sets, and supply lists as technology evolves.
• Promote teamwork by accepting and delegating tasks appropriately.

Patient Satisfaction and Safety

• Work closely with the surgical team to prepare instruments and supplies prior to cases.
• Maintain a professional, calm environment with minimal noise.
• Exemplify excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues.
• Adhere strictly to sterile field protocols and report any breaches immediately.
• Follow HIPAA regulations and social media policies.

Education and Certification

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with Registered Nurse credentials.

Work Schedule

Full-time, first shift, approximately 40 hours per week with call requirements.
