Job Summary: Deliver top-quality healthcare services by expertly using ionizing radiation to produce diagnostic images for licensed practitioners. This role extends to performing Computed Tomography (CT) and related procedures to generate detailed cross-sectional anatomical images.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform CT procedures with accuracy and professionalism.
• Confirm patient clinical history aligns with the procedure and ensure documentation is complete for practitioner use.
• Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal results, ease cooperation, and reduce anxiety.
• Select appropriate exam protocols as directed by Radiologists and adhere to established CT policies.
• Position and immobilize patients respectfully to best capture anatomical areas of interest.
• Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others.
• Assist licensed practitioners with interventional CT procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Address patients' physical and psychological needs throughout procedures.
• Perform venipunctures as needed.
• Operate and maintain equipment for contrast administration, patient monitoring, and surgical interventions.
• Administer contrast media and medications as prescribed.
• Evaluate image quality and adjust display parameters accordingly.
• Initiate basic life support when necessary.
• Complete all required computer documentation including patient histories and exam charges.
• Educate patients about tests and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas, restock supplies, and report equipment issues.
• Contribute to supply decisions and provide practical instruction to students or healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including quality control duties.
• Support other departmental areas as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of sterile supplies and aseptic techniques relevant to CT procedures.
• Recognize anatomical structures using computer-generated imaging systems.
• Utilize 3D workstations for image reformatting and reconstruction.
• Manage imaging media release to authorized parties.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology.
• Computer proficiency.
• Experienced radiographer with knowledge to perform CT procedures and basic understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Certified by the relevant state authority.
• Registered Technologist (R.T. (R)) with ARRT or equivalent in good standing.
• Must maintain or obtain CT credential (R.T. (R) (CT)) within two years of employment.

This position operates on a night shift schedule within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest United States.
